With a norm of 2500 -2900 patients, HCH is a national general hospital which takes the role of the leading reference in central region (16 central and provincial hospitals). It is also a key practical hospital of Hue Medical College and University to train medical cadres of university level and post-graduates and retrain medical staffs from hospitals and medical centers about primary, first and second specialties, Interns, Masters and  Ph.D.   Cardiovascular Center High Tech Center At present the total of staff is about 2,500 persons (1552 persons in target of the Ministry of Health), of which: - Graduated and post-graduated cadres: 450, of which: 431 Pharmacists and doctors. Including: + Professors, Associate Professors, PhDs:  32 + Pharmacists, Doctors of first and second specialty, Masters: 284, accounting for over 55% of post-graduated level. - Secondary cadres: 701 - Elementary cadres: 61 - Other: 584, including medical workers and workers. In addition, there are 152 permanent staffs of Hue Medical College coming to work at HCH, of which 2/3 of them are post-graduated cadres with same job status; So, everyday there are 560 doctors, pharmacists working, of which the rate of post-graduated cadres occupies 58%. Moreover, everyday there are 2,500 medical students from Hue medical College and Hue Secondary Medical School coming to HCH for their practice and study, and nearly 300 doctors of first and second specialty, interns, masters and Ph.D of Central region to study and do their subjects here. HCH also has 100 cadres who have given lectures and are in charge of job title at Hue Medical College. Regarding professional quality, 30 years after liberation HCH had 364 cadres sent to foreign countries for their training, exchange, study tours and seminars in America, France, Holland, Britain, Germany, Australia, Japan, Hungary, Nepan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, etc.,.
